There was an Old Hospital. He was alive. But it was a secret. Only very few people including a city mayor knew that. One day, the city mayor came to the Old Hospital. The mayor said, "Old Hospital! You helped many people for a long time. But you are too old now. You time is finally near to end. What is your last wish?"

Old Hospital stated his wish. "I have favorite songs. I'm a huge fan of Cathy&Bob the Rock Singers. I want to go to their concert before I die."

The mayor approved Old Hospital's wish. Next midnight, Old Hospital revealed his huge legs and walked to the concert hall. (Normally, he was hiding his legs inside his body like a tortoise.)



That day, people enjoyed Cathy&Bob the Rock Singers concert. And Old Hospital, which was now standing next to the concert hall, enjoyed watching the concert, too.

The concert was nearly over. "The time has come.", Old Hospital thought. He had to blow himself up with dynamites as a high light for the concert. That was the deal with the city mayor. "Now! He started countdown for his own destruction. 3, ... 2, ... 1, ..."

"Wait!" "Don't do that!" Cathy, and Bob shouted to the Old Hospital. Old Hospital was very surprised. He said, "How did you know that I was alive?"

Cathy said, "Who do you think we are!? We are rock singers!"
Bob said, "Of course we can feel any soul with rock spirit!"
Cathy and Bob shouted, "Everybody! Let's dance!!"



Cathy and Bob sang and danced! People sang and danced! Old Hospital sang and danced! Doctors, nurses, and patients sang and danced! Old Hospital felt young again.

最近、パンダとカエルの表紙の本を買って、多読というのを始めました。易しめの英語の本をいっぱい読むといった手法です。

そして、多読し始めたばかりの人は、英語を扱う時になるべく日本語にふれない方が良いと助言をいただいたので、今後暫くは英語のみとなる予定です。

I continued to shout, "The brave man shouted, 'Giga Break!!' At last, the brave man's Ultimate super attack penetrated Evil Dragon Lord's heavy armor!" Then, I glanced at the crowd of people around me. "Good!", I thought. "They are interested in my forged story more and more. I'm sure I'll become a rich man. Very rich!"
オレは続けて言った。「『ギガ・ブレイク！！』 ああ、ついに勇者の超必殺技が、ロード邪竜の重装甲を貫いたあ！」 そしてオレは、周りに集まった群衆の様子をちらっと見た。 (いいぞ！)とオレは思った、 みんな、オレのインチキ話にどんどん引きつけられてるみたいだ。オレは間違いなく金持ちになれるんだ。がっぽがっぽと儲かるんだ！

I shouted, "Evil Dragon Lord's last word was! , "THERE ISN'T EVEN SINGLE REGRET IN MY LIFE!"
オレは叫んだ、「ロード邪竜の最後の言葉は、『我が生涯に一片の悔い無し！』だったあ！」

At that moment, I heard one of guys gathered at the auction mumbled, "That phrase sounds familiar to me. Don't you think so?" He murmured to the next guy to him. "Oh, no!" I thought. "He know this phrase!" I pretended that I never heard his mumble.
その時オレは、オークションに集まってたやつの一人が、「なんかどっかで聞いたことのある台詞じゃねえか。なあお前そう思わねえか？」と隣のやつにぼそぼそ言うのを聞いた。(し、しまったぁ！)とオレは思った。オレの他にもあの台詞を知っているやつがいたのか！オレはそのつぶやきが聞こえなかったふりをした。

The Chairman of this auction said, "Next item is, ... that brave man's Autograph and his sword! Shall we start? How much price!?" I thought, "OK. See? No problem. Now I will get lots of money!"
オークションの司会者が言った。「 次のアイテムは、... その勇者のサインと剣です！ さあ始めましょうか？ 値段はいくらからでしょう！？」 (大丈夫、大丈夫さ。な？ ほら、すぐに大金が手に入るんだぜ！)オレは思った。

Unfortunately to me, a man pointing a finger at me, interrupted the bidding process. "Wait a minute. Why does that man have the brave man's Autograph even the legendary brave man's name was unknown?"
だがオレにとって残念なことに、男がオレを指さして競りの進行を中断した。「ちょっと待てよ。あの勇者の名前は誰も知らないんじゃないのか。なんであいつはそのサインを持っているんだ？」

"Aargh! It was a good question!!", I was upset a bit. I thought, "No! It's not a big deal. I can control the situation." Then I explained immediately with loud voice that we have done lots of detailed research and how we successfully contacted the legendary brave man!
(げええ！ 鋭い指摘じゃねえかよ！！)と、オレはちょっと焦った。(いや、こんな程度の指摘は、どうとでもできるぜ)オレは思い直した。そしてオレは即座に大声で説明したんだ。いかに我々が詳細なリサーチを行って、どのようにしてその、伝説の勇者にコンタクトすることに成功したのかを！

But another man pointed out an another flaw of my story. "Why do you have his 'SWORD' even he and the Evil Dragon Lord fought with fist to fist, barehanded fighting?
だが別の男が、オレの話の辻褄の合わない別の箇所を指摘した。「なんであんたは勇者の'剣'を持ってるんだよ。ロード邪竜と勇者は、こぶし対こぶし、つまり素手で戦ったんじゃなかったのかよ？」

I was more upset. I had to add up my story somehow, NOW! "The, ... the brave man used his magic sword for Ultimate Super Attack! I'm sure he did!", I shouted with my largest voice. I hoped as if louder voice have more credibility.
オレはさらに焦った。何とかして話を取り繕わないと、それも今すぐ！ オレは、「ゆ、...勇者は魔法の剣を使って超必殺技を放ったんですよ。きっと、それで間違いないです！」と、可能な限り大声を出して叫んだ。オレはあたかも大きな声の方が説得力が上がると期待してるかのようだった。

However, situation was getting worse more and more. People gathered at the auction shouted angrily, "He's a liar. It's a shenanigan! Get him!!" They were coming toward me. I screamed, "No---------!! Help me-------!!" I think I saw their clenched hands and legs. And that was it.
だが状況は悪化の一途をたどっていた。オークションに集まった人々は怒りに満ちた声で叫んでいた、「ペテン師だ。イカサマだ！ あいつをとっちめろ！！」彼らはオレの方に向かってきた。オレは悲鳴を上げた、「んぎゃあーー！！ お助けーー！！」オレは、彼らのげんこつと足をたくさん見たような気がした。そして、そこまでだった。

Henry : "Giga Break!!" At last, the brave man's Ultimate super attack penetrated Evil Dragon Lord's heavy armor! (Henry glanced at the crowd of people around him.)
ヘンリー: 「ギガ・ブレイク！！」ああ、ついに、勇者の超必殺技が、ロード邪竜の重装甲を貫いたあ！ (ヘンリーは、周りに集まった群衆の様子をちらっと見た)

Henry : Evil Dragon Lord's last word was, "My Life Was One Lived Without A Single Regret!"
ヘンリー: ロード邪竜の最後の言葉は、「我が生涯に一片の悔い無し！」だったあ！

People gathered at the auction : That phrase sounds familiar to me. (murmured to other guy)
オークションに集まった人: なんかどっかで聞いたことのある台詞じゃねえかな。 (となりのやつにブツブツと話す男)

Chairman : Next item is, ... that brave man's Autograph and his sword! Shall we start? How much price!?
司会者 : 次のアイテムは、... その勇者のサインと剣です！ さあ始めましょうか？ 値段はいくらからでしょう！？

A man : Wait a minute. Why does that man have the brave man's Autograph even the legendary brave man's name was unknown?
男 : ちょっと待てよ。あの勇者の名前は誰も知らないんじゃないのか。なんであいつはそのサインを持っているんだ？

Henry : (upset a bit) We did a detailed research and successfully contacted him!
ヘンリー: (少し焦って) 我々は、詳細なリサーチを行ってですね、勇者にコンタクトすることに成功したのですよ！

別の男 : なんであんたは勇者の'剣'を持ってるんだよ。ロード邪竜と勇者は、こぶし対こぶし、つまり素手で戦ったんじゃなかったのかよ？

Henry : (more upset) The, ... the brave man used his magic sword for Ultimate super attack! I'm sure he did!
ヘンリー: (もっと焦って) ゆ、...勇者は魔法の剣を使って超必殺技を放ったんですよ。きっと、それで間違いないです！

People gathered at the auction : (angrily) He's a liar. It's a shenanigan! Get him!!
オークションに集まった人: (怒りに満ちた声で) ペテン師だ。イカサマだ！ あいつをとっちめろ！！

Henry : No---------!! Help me-------!!
ヘンリー: んぎゃあーー！！ お助けーー！！

CPT. Dan: And take this! (He fired all missiles from the underground tank.)
ダン艦長: あと、これを喰らいな! (地底戦車からミサイル全弾発射するダン艦長)

Ann : What are you doing!?
アン: 何してんのよ！？

CPT. Dan: Just wait. (Missiles exploded!)
ダン艦長: まあ、見てな。(ミサイルが爆発！)

Bob : Missiles didn't reach their flying ships and exploded!
ボブ: ミサイルは飛空船に届かずに爆発しちゃったみたいだ！

CPT. Dan: See? Those missiles were in self-destruct mode. It was just for radar jamming.
ダン艦長: な？ 自爆モードで発射したんだよ。レーダーを攪乱しただけさ。

Ann : And what next?
アン: 次どうするのよ？

Bob : Now you are taking off your black helmet? And... what the!? (Captain Dan put his black helmet on Bob's HEAD and 'locked' it with his key.)
ボブ: 今度は黒いヘルメットを脱ぐんだ？ って、...わっ 何すんだ!? (黒いヘルメットをボブにかぶせて、鍵でロックしてしまうダン艦長)

CPT. Dan: Now, this is yours!
ダン艦長: これはおめえにやるぜ!

Bob : oxoxoxoxoxx! (Get the helmet off!)
ボブ: ムゴムゴムゴォ! (ヘルメットをとってよ!)

CPT. Dan: Adios, Amigos!
ダン艦長: アディオス、アミーゴ！

Ann : What do you mean!?
アン: それ、どういうこと!?

Bob : oxoxoxoxoxx! (Get the helmet off!)
ボブ: ムゴムゴムゴォ! (ヘルメットをとってよ!)

CPT. Dan: I mean I have to go now. Don't worry, Air Police Force will treat you two with good manner. (Captain Dan used the magic power of the Incredible Ring and ran away!)
ダン艦長: もう行かないといけないってことさ。大丈夫だよ。飛行警察は、丁重に扱ってくれるさ。(インクレディブルリングの魔力を使い、逃げ去ってしまうダン艦長)
　
　
When the angry Air Police Force officers came to Ann and Bob with their hand guns ready to fire, it seemed as if 'Bob' was the robber and took Ann as hostages. Because Bob was wearing the black helmet and couldn't take it off. (It was locked!)

Bob should thank Ann. She protected him desperately with her whole body. They were arrested by Air Police Force first, but finally they were released and got home.

By the way, Captain Dan was still at large.

怒りに燃える飛行警察部隊が手に手に銃を構えて、アンとボブのところへたどり着いた時には、「ボブ」が例の泥棒でアンを人質にとっているかのように見えた。なぜならボブは黒いヘルメットをかぶってて(しかもロックされているために)脱げなかったからだ。

ボブはアンに感謝すべきだろう。彼女は必死になって全身でボブを庇ったのだから。2人は飛行警察部隊に逮捕されてしまったが、最終的には釈放され、故郷に帰ることができた。

ちなみにダン艦長は、未だ逃げおおせたままだ。

Air Police Force: We are an Air Police Force 08 platoon. You have no way out! Surrender and give back stolen properties to us!
飛行警察部隊 : 我々は飛行警察、第八小隊だ。お前達は包囲されている！ 我々に降伏し、盗んだものを返却せよ！

Bob : What are they saying?
ボブ: 何言っているんだろう？

CPT. Dan: ...
ダン艦長: ...

Ann : ... Captain Dan, what did you steal from them?
アン: ... ダン艦長、あの人達から何を盗んだの？

CPT. Dan: Well, the Underground Tank and this Incredible Ring.
ダン艦長: えとその、地底戦車とこのインクレディブルリングだ。

Bob : You are a theft!
ボブ: どろぼうだったのか！

CPT. Dan: Shut up, kid. It can't be helped. I needed money.
ダン艦長: うるさいぞ、小僧。しかたなかったんだよ。金が必要だったんだ。

Bob : What is that you are holding? A helmet?
ボブ: 何を抱えてるの？ ヘルメット？

Ann : What will you do with the black helmet?
アン: その真っ黒いヘルメットで何をするつもりなの？

CPT. Dan: Don't worry. I have a plan. (he puts a helmet on his head)
ダン艦長: 心配すんな。策があるんだ。(ヘルメットをかぶるダン艦長)

Air Police Force: Surrender! Now!
飛行警察部隊 : 降伏しろ！ 今すぐ！

CPT. Dan: No! I have 2 hostages. Look! (he has a gun at Bob and Ann.)
ダン艦長: やだね！ こっちには2人も人質がいるんだぜ。これを見やがれ！(ボブとアンに銃を突きつけるダン艦長)

Bob : What!?
ボブ: ええええ！？
