Sergeant Dan was drinking Japanese tea in the police box when Officer Yama came back from his patrol.

　 "Sergeant Dan! I'm back from routine patrol, Sir!" Officer Yama saluted.
　 "Officer Yama, why are you holding a Kotatsu desk in your back?"
　 "It lost its way, sir," Yama answered.

　 "...," Sergeant Dan was silent for a while. Then said, "Officer Yama, last week you brought lost old lady carrying on your back here. That was good. But why did you bring a Kotatsu desk here today?"
　 "Because I was asked for help. So, I took it to our police box. It's our duty to help anyone in trouble, sir."
　 "Our duty is to help people, not desks!"

At that moment, someone said something. "... I'm scared. ... Please ... help me."
Sergeant Dan asked, "Why are you talking in woman's voice, Officer Yama?"

　 "That's not me. It's this Kotatsu desk, sir."

Sergeant Dan and Officer Yama heard the Kotatsu desk's story. It insisted that 'she' came from outer space. "I'm a Kotatsu desk-rian. We came from Kotatsu desk star system. It's our school trip. It seems I walked around too much and I was left alone here."

　 "Got it, sir? We need to help her," said Officer Yama.
　 "But she is an alien from outer space. How can we help her?"



　 "Leave it to me!" someone cried in a large voice.
　 "Who are you!?" asked Officer Yama.
　 "I'm Mako Harasawa," answered the woman.
　 "You are the Commissioner of police!" said Sergeant Dan.
　 "The Commissioner of police!? Ma'am, why are you here at such small police box!?" asked Officer Yama.

She came to the police box because she had got the information that something supernatural was going on there.

Now, Kotatsu desk-rian girl, Officer Yama, Sergeant Dan, and the Commissioner Mako were sitting at a big Kotatsu. They did mah-jong game in a certain manner. That was the secret ritual to summon Kotatsu desk-rian Space taxi. Commissioner Mako said only high ranking people know the ritual.
　 "Thank you very much, all of you!" Kotatsu desk-rian girl successfully went back to her planet.

Candle holder: Today, you can only have one of them. Choose now.

Girl: Then father, please.

Candle holder: Granted. ... Loading. ... Please wait. ...

Father: Hi, I'm your father, Daughter.

Girl: Father! I wanted to see you!

Father: Me, too. What do you want me to do?

Girl: Piggyback, please! I wanted to watch phoenixes up in the Death Mountain with you.

Girl: So soon?

Candle holder: Yes.

The fire in the stone-candle-holder burned-out. The false-life which was temporally constructed around the candle was gone. 　"Okay. My coffee break is over. Let's go back to my work.", said the girl. 　She grabbed her scythe very hard and disappeared to somewhere.

彼女は石で出来た燭台をカマでぶったたいた。大きな火花が散り、ろうそくに火が灯った。力強く、暖かい光が、石で出来た燭台に輝いていた。

ろうそく立て: 我が眠りを妨げるのは誰だ？

少女: 私よ。

ろうそく立て: 望みは何だ？

少女: 母と父が欲しいの。

ろうそく立て: 今日は、どちらか一人だけだ。選べ。

少女: では、父をお願いします。

ろうそく立て: 受理された。 ... ロード中。 ... しばし待たれよ。 ...

父: ハイ、私が父だ、娘よ。

少女: お父さん！ 会いたかった！

父: 私もだ。何をして欲しい？

少女: 肩車をして！ 死の山の不死鳥達をいっしょに見たかったの。

ろうそく立て: そうだ。

石で出来た燭台の火は燃え尽きた。ろうそくのまわりに形成された疑似生命はなくなった。「よし。休憩時間終わり。仕事に戻ろ。」少女は言った。彼女は、カマを力一杯握って、どこかへ消えていった

A middle aged man and a girl was on a bus.
　 "Where are you going?", the girl asked.
　 "To my home town. I will get there soon.", answered the man with a soulless voice.
When they met first, the girl already tried to kill the man with her death scythe. But she couldn't. His 'shell' was somehow very hard.
　 "That was odd.", she thought. "The core fire in his soul is very weak even compared with a normal human. Why couldn't I separate his soul from his very dead body? And what should I do now?"
　 "There." He got off the bus at the bus station. The girl followed him.

A middle aged woman was waiting for him there. "You were late. What took you so long, my dear?"
　 "I'm very sorry.", said the man. "I had an accident."
　 "You mean you had an affair with another woman again, didn't you!?" Suddenly the woman got very angry. 3 large cars came out from nowhere and crashed the man. The girl moved very fast and avoided large cars. "This woman possesses a strong power!", the girl thought.

　 "... Definitely not. Believe me. I had an accident. It was true this time." The man came under the cars. He was bleeding and had some bruises, but he seemed to be alive. "I lost many things. I lost most of my memories. But I didn't forget you."
　 "You married me. But you loved many other girls after that! Why you remember me?", asked the woman.
　 "It was my remorse to you. When I was under the bus by the car accident, I truly felt sorry for the first time."

　 "You said 'remorse.' You didn't say you loved me!"
　 "That is correct. I no longer loved you after I cheated you. But you were very angry. Too angry and you couldn't die even your body is no longer exist. Your soul trapped here. You became a dead spirit. You killed me. And you continued causing traffic accidents even after that. You had too much anger. I feel sorry for you in that point."

The girl used her death scythe to the woman's spirit. The bind of her obsessed feelings was destroyed. The spirit disappeared to somewhere.

　 "Thank you for saving her. I couldn't die while she remains here. Thank you..." The man's body gradually fell apart to the ground. And disappeared with a wind.

　 The girl said, "His soul also fell apart into pieces... I have nothing to salvage here. I should go home now."

Old Man: Where are we going? 　Heaven or Hell?

Girl: Neither. ... Here. 　We arrived.

Old Man: What happens to me?

Girl: You are about to extinguish, Now. [she hit the old man with her scythe]
　
　
Old Man's soul was separated into a lifeless stone-candle-holder and a core fire. 　The girl retrieved the core fire carefully, and protectively with her hands, then left the cell.
　
　
　
　
　
"Candle holder A42375-J, your time has come. 　Take this core fire. We should go now.", said the girl. Then she ignited the stone-candle-holder unit with the core fire. 　As a whole, it became a new soul.

"You think you remember the warmth of their hands? 　Of course you have. They are your family. 　Well, next duty calls and I need to go. 　Goodbye, Baby."

At a hospital. 　Some people were gathered around at an woman's bed. 　The mother was holding a newborn baby in her arms and smiling happily.

少女: どっちでもない。 ... ほらここよ。 到着した。

老人: 私はどうなるんだい？

少女: あなたは消滅します。今ここで。 [カマを老人に振り下ろす少女]
　
　
老人の魂は、生命を宿さない石の燭台とコアファイアとに分離した。少女はコアファイアを注意深く、大切そうに両手で回収した。そして保管の間を後にした。
　
　
　
　
　
「ろうそく立て A42375-J、時間よ。コアファイアを受け取って。これから２人ですぐ出かけないといけないの。」少女は言い、そしてコアファイアを点火に使う。石の燭台は火をやどした。合わさったものは、新しい魂となった。

「みんなの手の暖かさを覚えているような気がするって？ そりゃそうよ。この人達はあなたの家族だもの。ごめん、次の仕事があるから私もう行かないと。さよなら、赤ちゃん」

病院。女の人のベッドの周りに人々が数人集まっている。彼女は生まれた赤ちゃんを腕に抱き、うれしそうに笑っていた。

Long ago, there was an old man. He was a retired hunter. One day, a bear came to the old man's house. The bear was dancing a Japanese Bon festival dance.
　 "Why are you dancing a Bon dance?", old man asked.
　 "Look up the sky!", the bear answered. There was a UFO in the sky. It was beaming some king of energy field to the bear.
　 "It's a dancing beam! Help me. Please stop it.", begged the bear.
　 "I got it!" The old man answered and immediately shut the UFO with his rifle. He was still a good sniper. The UFO was down on the ground. The UFO was a Yakisobarian the Masked UFO.

Angry bear hit the Masked UFO with his fists. "Take this!" "Angry Bear's Punch!!"
　 "AARGH--!!", the Masked UFO flied over 10 m by the bear's punch.

　 "Bear, that was a great punch. And old man, you are a great sniper." The Masked UFO continued his talk, "I was looking strong men like you guys! World is in danger by Evil Queen. We must fight her!"



　 "OK. But I'm hungry.", said the bear.
The old man agreed, "Me, too."
　 "Then let's go to the Gyudon(Beef Bowl) restaurant over there first."
　 "Hi! Welcome to our Gyudon restaurant. What is your order?", smiling waitress welcomed them nicely. Each of them ate some extra large Beef Bowls.

　 "Where are we?"
　 "Why am I tied to a cross?"
　 "I want to eat one more extra large Beef Bowl!"
　 "O-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho! You stupid boys!", the waitress was laughing at them.
　 "Who are you!?", asked Yakisobarian the Masked UFO.
　 "Don't you see? That was not a real Gyudon restaurant. And I'm the Evil Queen."
　 "Oh, no! It was a trap!"
　 "We already arrived at the Evil Queen's castle?"
　 "What should we do now!?"

　 "You shall die here! I will eat you all!", Evil Queen revealed her true self. Evil Queen was a huge woman. Her hight was about 30 m!



　 "Not so fast!", the bear said and cut the ropes of everyone.
　 "Dancing Beam, full power!", Yakisobarian the Masked UFO fired his weapon.
　 "What the!?", Evil Queen's body danced without her will and she destroyed her own castle.
　 "It's over!", the old man shot all the magic jewels of Evil Queen. "Bear!, she is powerless now!"
　 "I was waiting for this. Final Punch!!", the bear hit the Evil Queen with his all power. She disappeared far up into the sky.
World was in peace again.

They say the Evil Queen was still alive and she reopened her Gyudon restaurant at somewhere in the world, but we don't know for sure.

There was an Old Hospital. He was alive. But it was a secret. Only very few people including a city mayor knew that. One day, the city mayor came to the Old Hospital. The mayor said, "Old Hospital! You helped many people for a long time. But you are too old now. You time is finally near to end. What is your last wish?"

Old Hospital stated his wish. "I have favorite songs. I'm a huge fan of Cathy&Bob the Rock Singers. I want to go to their concert before I die."

The mayor approved Old Hospital's wish. Next midnight, Old Hospital revealed his huge legs and walked to the concert hall. (Normally, he was hiding his legs inside his body like a tortoise.)



That day, people enjoyed Cathy&Bob the Rock Singers concert. And Old Hospital, which was now standing next to the concert hall, enjoyed watching the concert, too.

The concert was nearly over. "The time has come.", Old Hospital thought. He had to blow himself up with dynamites as a high light for the concert. That was the deal with the city mayor. "Now! He started countdown for his own destruction. 3, ... 2, ... 1, ..."

"Wait!" "Don't do that!" Cathy, and Bob shouted to the Old Hospital. Old Hospital was very surprised. He said, "How did you know that I was alive?"

Cathy said, "Who do you think we are!? We are rock singers!"
Bob said, "Of course we can feel any soul with rock spirit!"
Cathy and Bob shouted, "Everybody! Let's dance!!"



Cathy and Bob sang and danced! People sang and danced! Old Hospital sang and danced! Doctors, nurses, and patients sang and danced! Old Hospital felt young again.

Then, I glanced at the crowd of people around me. "Good!", I thought. "They are interested in my forged story more and more. I'm sure I'll become a rich man. Very rich!"
オレは続けて言った。「『ギガ・ブレイク！！』 ああ、ついに勇者の超必殺技が、ロード邪竜の重装甲を貫いたあ！」 そしてオレは、周りに集まった群衆の様子をちらっと見た。 (いいぞ！)とオレは思った、 みんな、オレのインチキ話にどんどん引きつけられてるみたいだ。オレは間違いなく金持ちになれるんだ。がっぽがっぽと儲かるんだ！

I shouted, "Evil Dragon Lord's last word was! , "THERE ISN'T EVEN SINGLE REGRET IN MY LIFE!"
オレは叫んだ、「ロード邪竜の最後の言葉は、『我が生涯に一片の悔い無し！』だったあ！」

At that moment, I heard one of guys gathered at the auction mumbled, "That phrase sounds familiar to me. Don't you think so?" He murmured to the next guy to him. "Oh, no!" I thought. "He know this phrase!" I pretended that I never heard his mumble.
その時オレは、オークションに集まってたやつの一人が、「なんかどっかで聞いたことのある台詞じゃねえか。なあお前そう思わねえか？」と隣のやつにぼそぼそ言うのを聞いた。(し、しまったぁ！)とオレは思った。オレの他にもあの台詞を知っているやつがいたのか！オレはそのつぶやきが聞こえなかったふりをした。

The Chairman of this auction said, "Next item is, ... that brave man's Autograph and his sword! Shall we start? How much price!?" I thought, "OK. See? No problem. Now I will get lots of money!"
オークションの司会者が言った。「 次のアイテムは、... その勇者のサインと剣です！ さあ始めましょうか？ 値段はいくらからでしょう！？」 (大丈夫、大丈夫さ。な？ ほら、すぐに大金が手に入るんだぜ！)オレは思った。

Unfortunately to me, a man pointing a finger at me, interrupted the bidding process. "Wait a minute. Why does that man have the brave man's Autograph even the legendary brave man's name was unknown?"
だがオレにとって残念なことに、男がオレを指さして競りの進行を中断した。「ちょっと待てよ。あの勇者の名前は誰も知らないんじゃないのか。なんであいつはそのサインを持っているんだ？」

"Aargh! It was a good question!!", I was upset a bit. I thought, "No! It's not a big deal. I can control the situation." Then I explained immediately with loud voice that we have done lots of detailed research and how we successfully contacted the legendary brave man!
(げええ！ 鋭い指摘じゃねえかよ！！)と、オレはちょっと焦った。(いや、こんな程度の指摘は、どうとでもできるぜ)オレは思い直した。そしてオレは即座に大声で説明したんだ。いかに我々が詳細なリサーチを行って、どのようにしてその、伝説の勇者にコンタクトすることに成功したのかを！

But another man pointed out an another flaw of my story. "Why do you have his 'SWORD' even he and the Evil Dragon Lord fought with fist to fist, barehanded fighting?
だが別の男が、オレの話の辻褄の合わない別の箇所を指摘した。「なんであんたは勇者の'剣'を持ってるんだよ。ロード邪竜と勇者は、こぶし対こぶし、つまり素手で戦ったんじゃなかったのかよ？」

I was more upset. I had to add up my story somehow, NOW! "The, ... the brave man used his magic sword for Ultimate Super Attack! I'm sure he did!", I shouted with my largest voice. I hoped as if louder voice have more credibility.
オレはさらに焦った。何とかして話を取り繕わないと、それも今すぐ！ オレは、「ゆ、...勇者は魔法の剣を使って超必殺技を放ったんですよ。きっと、それで間違いないです！」と、可能な限り大声を出して叫んだ。オレはあたかも大きな声の方が説得力が上がると期待してるかのようだった。

However, situation was getting worse more and more. People gathered at the auction shouted angrily, "He's a liar. It's a shenanigan! Get him!!" They were coming toward me. I screamed, "No---------!! Help me-------!!" I think I saw their clenched hands and legs. And that was it.
だが状況は悪化の一途をたどっていた。オークションに集まった人々は怒りに満ちた声で叫んでいた、「ペテン師だ。イカサマだ！ あいつをとっちめろ！！」彼らはオレの方に向かってきた。オレは悲鳴を上げた、「んぎゃあーー！！ お助けーー！！」オレは、彼らのげんこつと足をたくさん見たような気がした。そして、そこまでだった。
