This is TV Animation version of the "Fate/stay night".(This was originally a video game.)
TVアニメ版のFate/stay night。(元はPC版/PS2版のビジュアルノベル)

To put it simply, it's an action movie. And it's a very appealing story.
非常に簡単に言うと、アクション映画な感じ。話はとても面白い。

About English, it's pretty difficult. In generally speaking, action animes' English is rather easy. But not this one. It's mainly due to the explanation of 'magic' by 　Rin Tosaka 　are very fast and difficult.
英語は、けっこう難しい。一般的に言って、アクション系のアニメの英語は易しめだと思うけど、これは、違う。理由は、遠坂さんの'魔術'に関する説明が、早口でなおかつ難しいことによるところが多いと思う。

So, first half of the 24 episodes are more difficult than last half.(Ms. Tosaka explain a lot in the earlier episodes. You can also listen to Japanese original voices if you really don't understand English dub though.)そんなわけで、全24話のうち、前半の方が特に難しい。(遠坂さんの説明は、前半部分に多い。どうしても判らなければ、英語音声から、オリジナルの日本語に切り替えることも可能だけど。)

If you start watching this drama, you might not able to stop till the end. Because it's very interesting.
見始めると、続きが気になって、最後まで見ずに途中で止めるのは難しいかも。すごい面白いので。

I have nothing more to say, if I only watched this TV anime version. But I also played PS2 video game version.) So, I have something more to say.
あと、あまり言うことはない感じ。もし、TV版しか見ていなければ。でも、PS2版のFate/stay nightもやったので、他にも感想はある。

By comparison, TV version (with 24 episodes) is very short. In many occasions, while they explain for more than 30 pages in visual novel game, TV version has only 1 or 2 seconds.
比較すると、TV版(全24話)は、すごく短い。いろいろな状況で、ゲーム版が３０ページも使って説明しているようなところとかが、TV版では、1，2秒になっているところが多々ある。

So, there are many short scenes which have very complicated meanings in fact with TV version. You can't understand deeply if you don't watch many times or also play video game version.
だから、TV版の短いシーンは、実は相当に深い意味があるところが多い。何度も見たり、ゲームもやらないと、深くは判らないと思う。

For example, 'the old man' appears just 1 second in TV version, so there's no showdown by 'the old man' and Sakura in TV.
例えば、ある'じいさん'は、TV版に1秒くらいしか出てこない。当然、桜とじいさんの、"バトル" もTV版にはない。

In DVD 'extra', there was a 'Rider's Diary'! (English dub only) It was kind of fun.

ここからは、ゲーム版との比較とゲーム版の感想です。

It's very long visual novel. They say it take about 100 hours if you don't skip any voice skits. I suggest you watch TV version first.
ゲームと言っても、ゲーム性はないので、ほとんど小説かTVドラマみたい。長かった。音声スキップしないと100時間はかかるんだそうな。TV版を見て、気に入ったならゲームもやってみるという、順番の方がいいような気がする。

Compared with TV Animation series):
Every "Servants" and "Masters" have their own big scenes. ("Servant" is a kind of legendary heroes or warriors in the history of mankind who was summoned by "Master". ) They are very attractive in many meanings. We can see not only their fightings scenes but also how they feel or what their personalities are.
各サーバント(簡単に言うと超強力な使い魔/呼び出された過去の英霊とか)と、マスター全員にちゃんと、それぞれの見せ場がある。それも、アクションだけではなく、性格とか人間性がわかるようなものが。

In TV Animation series, I could understand only Saber's character to the depth. And many of others seemed just "formidable enemies" to fight with.
TV版を見た時は、セイバー以外のサーバント、主人公と凛以外のマスターは、あくまで、少年漫画の"戦うべき強敵"って感じだったと思った。


各ルートの感想 impression of 3 stories

The First Story: FATE
If you already seen TV series, and read first half(10 to 20 hours) of this episode, you might feel dull. Because it's very similar to TV version story and also very long. But I'm sure "Saber" was a beautiful and very attractive young woman.
セイバールート
TV版を見ていると、前半同じような展開で、なおかつ冗長なので特に辛い。味方戦力の要である、セイバーはかわいいと思うけど。

The final boss(same as TV series boss), "Golden boy" with golden armour seemed very strong. This story was orthodox hero story for boy's comic(like in Shounen Jump).
TV版同様、鎧を着たラスボスのきんきらお兄さん圧倒的に強い。正統派、熱血少年漫画みたい。


凛ルート
The Second Story: Unlimited Blade Works
"Lancer" was a very attractive guy in this episode. He kept a low profile in other episodes and TV series. "Saber" was not much active in this episode. Even the final show down with final boss was not her role this time. Poor "Saber".
TV版では、目立たなかったランサーが、いい味出しててかっこいいかも。セイバーあまり目立たず。ラスボスと戦うのも、セイバーでなく主人公。

The main battle was fighting with "Archer".("Archer" is Emiya Shirou himself from the future. He is one of the ideal future of himself.) So, the final boss "Golden boy" wearing casual dress, was not seemed very "attractive enemy" as in first episode.
アーチャー(未来の自分自身、理想の１つ)との戦いがメインなので、若者風の服を着たラスボスのきんきらお兄さん、微妙に目立っていない。


桜ルート
The Third Story: Heavens Feel
The main character(Emiya Shirou) seemed very painful cyborg or something in this episode. (He earned super power. But he gradually lose his mind and body efficiency or something with severe pain, each time he uses his special skill.)
主人公が、痛々しい改造人間みたい(必殺技を使うたびに、心や体が、だんだん壊れていくような感じ)。

The final boss of this episode is "Sakura". Her life was full of pain. But difficult for me to emotionally involve with her. I understand some people might have this kind of character, though.
このルートのラスボスは、桜。かわいそうな生い立ちだとは思うんだけれど、桜に感情移入するのが難しい。こういう性格の人もいるんだろうけど。

"Rider" seemed very bad girl(nasty woman, evil spirit, and Queen of SM) in another episodes and TV series. But we found she was a good girl.
TV版及び他のルートで、性格の悪い悪霊/SMの女王様みたいだったライダー(セイバー曰く、"英霊ではなく悪鬼の類")が、実はすごくいい人とわかる。

I think she is also good when she was working as a sales assistant in Fate/hollow ataraxia.(PC version video game, kind of sequel to Fate/stay night)
ついでながら、PC版のFate/hollow ataraxiaで、バイトの店員をやってるライダーも、とても魅力的だと思う。

"Saber" was defeated in early innings. And she reappear as a Black "Saber". She becomes a enemy's main arm with very black costume.
逆に、真っ白な戦乙女って感じだった、セイバーは序盤で敵に破れていなくなり、中盤で真っ黒にイメチェンして、敵戦力の要となって味方を苦しめる。

I bet "Golden boy" was not remain to the final battle. And he sure retired in the middle of this story. He tried to kill Sakura and he successfully cornered her. But in the end, he was eaten by Sakura's shadow.
そうなるだろうと思っていたけど、例のきんきらお兄さん、桜を追い詰めるも、桜の影に逆に喰われてしまい、退場。

Kotomine Kirei told many things about himself. And it was very interesting. First, he seemed just a super villain, but he has his very own opinion and his view points.
TV版では単なる悪役に見えた、言峰綺礼(ことみね きれい)の考えがいろいろわかって、そこは興味深く面白かった。

In the middle stage of this episide, "Golden boy" and Kotomine Kirei had several private conversations(kind of bad guy's talk). And they were funny. They seemed as if they were a corrupted local governor and an unscrupulous merchant of EDO period and they were trying to get profit from the scheme.
中盤で、たびたび密談する言峰綺礼ときんきらお兄さんが、お代官様と越後屋さん(悪徳廻船問屋)みたいでおかしい。

The scene which Kotomine Kirei was eating Szechuan Ma-bo-tofu(very very hot) and pretend to talk as if he just enjoy eating, was the most funny scene in this game. I like him.
激辛の麻婆豆腐を、平気なふりをして無理して食べる言峰綺礼のシーンが一番すごいギャグに感じた。けっこう好きだなぁ。

There are many kind of impressions of this game on the net. To me, this game was a pretty good(but very long) action movie or something.
世間での評価はいろいろあるけど、自分にとってFate/stay nightゲーム版は、わりとおもしろいんだけど、やたらと長いアクション映画を、延々と見ていたような感じだった。

UK TV drama version of the 'The hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy'(mini series with 6 episodes).
イギリスのTVドラマ版、銀河ヒッチハイク・ガイド(全6話)です。

You might watch the US movie version of the 'The hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy' (2005). That movie was a remake of this drama. I recommend this TV version for huge fun of that movie. If you like 'stupid' sci-fi taste, this drama is for you.
リメイクのアメリカ映画、銀河ヒッチハイク・ガイド(2005年)を見たことがありますでしょうか。このTV版は、あの映画がすごく好きな人にお奨めです。もしくは、「アホな、大バカな」味のSFが好きな人に、薦めます。

It has lots of stupid(but seems very intelligent on first glance) sci-fi explanations. So, you need English skill to watch this drama. Not only listening skills you need, but also reading skills. Because you often need to watch and read the book(The hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy)'s explanations.
ばかばかしい科学的説明(但し、ぱっと見ると非常に理知的な)がたくさん出てきます。そんなわけで、見るには英語のスキルが結構必要です。聞き取れるだけでなく、読み取れる力もいります。それは、画面にちょくちょく現れる、本(銀河ヒッチハイク・ガイド)の説明を見る羽目になるからです。

They might be fun and stupid, but they are not very easy. (even with English caption which you can use when you have DVDs.)
楽しくて、ばかばかしいのですが、けして易しくはないです。(DVDを買って、DVD英語字幕をONにしても、それでも難しいです。)

They also have English 'comment' caption for all 6 episodes. I never seen one before, in any other DVDs. It's basically a caption version of English commentary. And they are pretty difficult for English learner, too.
なお、コメンタリー字幕が6話全部に付いています。DVDを結構買って持っていますが、'コメンタリー字幕'というのは初めて目にしました。基本的にはコメンタリー音声が、字幕になったと思えばいいのですが、英語学習者の、自分のスキルでは、かなり難しかったです。

This UK drama version's story is not very quick.(The US movie version of story is much more fast-paced.) But you'll get used to it, after watching it for a while.
この英国BBC版の話は、あまり速い展開ではないです。(米映画版は、なんかテンポがもっと速い) しかし、見ているうちに慣れると思います。

You might find lot's of truth about 'fish translator', 'Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything', ... and so on.
見れば、'魚翻訳機'とか、'生命と宇宙と万物に関する究極の答え'などの、真実が見つけられると思います。

English is sometimes pretty difficult. But easy to understand. It's because of the storyline is for children. (You can understand the story even you don't fully understand every English conversations. If you try to understand all sci-fi technical talks, it might be quite difficult.)
英語は、時々けっこう速い。でも理解しやすい。この理由は、話の筋が基本的に子供向けだからだと思う。(会話を全て理解しなくても、話が理解できるような作りになっているというか。SFっぽい会話含む英語を、全て理解しようとすると相当難しいです。)

For example, following skit in episode 2 took about 30 sec. They talk pretty fast! But you can also watch the important scent that the GaoGaiGar's one of arm was broken. So, you can understand the meaning of the scene without understand the English at all.
例えば第2話に、以下のような30秒ほどのシーンがある。相当に速い会話です！ でも、そのシーンで一番大事なのは、ガオガイガーの片腕が壊れて、もげていることだけなので、映像をみれば、理解できる。英語を全く理解しなくても。

Even though this DVD's qualifying age is from '7years and older', you might love this anime if you like hot blooded Super Robot anime.
このDVDの対象年齢は、'7才以上'と書いてあるけど、熱血スーパーロボットアニメが好きな人なら、誰でも楽しめると思う。

In my opinion, not only elementary school kids but many viewers who watched the 'Final Fusion' scene, which is a transformation sequence to the GaoGaiGar from middle sized Robot 'GaiGar', Shinkansen bullet train, Nighthawk Stealth Fighter, and a Drill tank, might be fascinated.
小学生ならずとも、ガイガー(中型のロボット)と新幹線、ステルス戦闘機、ドリル戦車が全部合体してガオガイガーに'ファイナルフュージョン'するシーンは、心を奪われるような気が、私はする。

When I start watching this drama, I sometimes felt storyline is bit childish. But it was just the bit and I only felt it in the early episodes. 'Cause this story is very hot. Everyone except some children are hot blooded. I soon forgot about bit of childishness because it was just very hot. (They might be too hot and annoying if they existed in real life, but this is anime!)
このドラマを見始めた序盤は特に、子供向けかなと、気になる部分は、時々あった。けれど、それは少しだけだし、そう感じるのは最初だけだ。なぜなら、やたらと熱い話だからだ。何人かの子供達以外の登場人物は、なんかみんな熱い。あまりに熱いので、他のことはすぐ気にならなくなるのだ。(ただ、アニメだからいいのであって、こんな連中が現実にいたら、暑苦しいと思う。)

English sound track is 'better' quality than Japanese one. Maybe because Japanese original recording was old and monaural. And English voice actors and actresses are good, especially when they are shouting something!
(元が、けっこう古いからなのか)日本語よりも、英語音声トラックの方が、BGMの音質も良い、迫力も有り、英語声優の声も良い。特に叫ぶシーンとかは、すごい！

Mostly, in each episode, GaoGaiGar and other teammate robots straggle to fight with a super villain robot, using their guts, courage and teamwork, and solve that case in the end of each episode.
基本的には1話完結で、気合いと勇気とチームワークで、毎回苦戦しつつも、敵を倒すみたいな話。

By the way, Hyoryu and Enryu's call out "Symmetrical Docking!" in English version is kind of much stronger than Japanese version. I like it better. But I watched this drama too much and when I shut my eyes, I often heard this "Symmetrical Docking!" auditory hallucination for some while.
ちなみに、氷竜と炎竜が、「シンメトリカル ドッキング！」って叫んで合体する、その台詞は、日本語版と比べて特に英語版がド迫力になってます。私は、さんざんこのアニメを見た後に、目をつむると、このかけ声の幻聴が聞こえてきて困りました。

Because of the Premium Box Collection 1 sales was not good in US, this Premium Box Collection 2 has no English dub! It has just English subtitle. I was shocked when I noticed this fact, after I bought Box Collection 2.
前半パート(1〜25話のセット)が米国で売れなかった関係で、予算を削るため後半パートには、英語字幕のみで、英語音声入っていない！ のだそうな。英語で聞こうと思って買った関係者(私も)には、大ショック！というか。

And I can't help disappointing when I heard the 'sound'. Japanese version seems monaural. (In Premium Box Collection 1, they recorded English version with stereo, maybe Dolby sound.) It doesn't have punch.
あと、しかたがないけれど、前半パートの英語音声版(ドルビー？)と比べると、日本語音声版のBGM音(モノラル？)が、なんとも、迫力ない。

But you know, the 'storyline' is getting better and better in latter half.(I mean soon after Premium Box Collection 2 episodes have started.)
So, you can soon forget about the monaural 'sound' problem.
でも、話そのものは、(見始めてすぐの27話ぐらいから)どんどんどんどん際限なく盛り上がっていくので、すぐに'音が貧弱なこと'は、気にならなくなるけど。

About reading English sub, it was more difficult for me than listening English voices. You need much reading skill. I sometimes have to stop or rewind to read the lines.
なお、英語音声を聞くよりも、英語字幕を追うのは、難しかったです。リーディングの力がかなりないと、時々DVDを停止しないと追いつかない感じ。

In this Premium Box Collection 2(Episodes 26-49), most of each story finished with using 1 or 2 episodes. But you might feel the Final showdown start from Episodes 27 and continued to Episodes 49. It's kind of long. But I think you never feel long-overdue. It's just way too powerful storyline. So, very interesting.(by watching this drama, you might use lots of energy and might exhausted.)
後半は、1〜2話で完結する話が多いけど、受ける印象としては、怒濤の展開で、最終決戦が延々と27話から49話まで続くような感じ。長いけど、間延びする感じは全然なく、ものすごい迫力で、おもしろいのだ。(けど、ちょっと疲れるかも。)

I think the recommended age for this latter half drama(Episodes 26-49) might be bit higher than Episodes 1-25.
気のせいか対象年齢も、序盤に比べると、上がってるように見えなくもないと思う。

I wonder, that these 'tough battles' are not too much for children?
子供向けの話で、ここまで、苦闘しなきゃいけないのかとか、ちょっとだけ疑問にも思った。

In Episodes 49, it was like a boxing match. In the final round, with no power left, but still doing fierce battles. It was tough to watch. I can't help feeling, "They fought really well. They ought to have a right to rest."
最後の最後のあたりは、最終ラウンドまで、残る力を振り絞って打ち合う、激闘するボクサーの試合を見ているようで、なんというか、見ているのが辛いぐらいで、「もういいよ、十分戦ったから、もう休ませてやれよ」とか思うぐらい。

It's basically a great hot blooded Super Robot drama, so I don't have much complaint as a whole.
基本的には、傑作な、熱血スーパーロボットものなので、あまりけなすところがないと思う。

Suffice it to say that some supervillains in earlier episodes somehow became a 'friends' in later is bit strange. We understand why they became so, but they were doing lots of bad things. It's kind of strange to hear one of hero robot say, "He is a best, irreplaceable friend of mine." But the hero also said in earlier episode, battling with the exact supervillain, "I'm happy to die here if I can destroy you!" Well, this kind of things often happen in boys manga storyline, though.
それでも個人的に文句を付けるとしたら、些細な点だけなんだけど、前半で悪のかぎりを尽くしていた、ある人とかが、終盤、気が付くといつのまにか味方になっているのが、微妙に納得がいかない気もした。前半であれだけ死闘を演じたヒーローロボの一人も、「かけがいのない仲間です」とか言うし。ちょっと前には、「あなたを倒して死ぬなら本望です」とか言ってなかったか、あんた。まあ、少年漫画とかではありがちな展開かもしれないけど。

In English voices in Episodes 1-25, English voice actor for this supervillain is kind of better than Japanese voice actor in saying, "Uriririririririririr....."
So, the supervillain sounds more wicked evil grin guy than Japanese version.
前半パートで、その悪役をやってた英語版の声優さんの声が(元の日本語版の人より)、「ウリリリリリリ...」 をより不気味に、うまく、悪役っぽくやっていたので、よけいにそう思うのかもしれない。

That sounds better in the episodes. But, of course the English voice actor didn't know the supervillain will become good guy. Who on earth predict that? That supervillain was the strangest villain!
そのエピソード内では、その声の演技は光ってた。でもその声優さんは、その悪役が後で味方になるだなんてことは、もちろん知らなかったに違いないと思う。前半に登場したうちで、もっともわけがわかんない不気味な悪役だったし！

This is a DVD of 'The best of' TOKYO PIG. So, it only has 8 episodes. It's kind of expensive!
このDVDは、はれぶたの傑作選なので8話分しか入っていない。けち！(比較的お得度は低いです)

English is quite difficult. I was lucky this DVD has English caption.(But they don't have Japanese sound nor caption at all.) Why is English so difficult? Isn't this a simple anime DVD for children?
英語はかなり難しい。英語字幕が入っていて助かった。(※日本語は全く入っていません) 子供向けなのに、なぜ英語が難しいのか？

And this show is not like Medabots. Medabots is also for children's anime, but it has a clear storyline in each episode. So, it's easy to understand. In this TOKYO PIG, there are just so many isolated jokes but not very clear storyline. In some meaning, it's like comedians are talking several comic dialogs in each episodes.
これは、メダロットみたいな話ではない。メダロットも子供向けアニメだけど、1話ごとに、明確なストーリーの起承転結があって、わかりやすかった。このはれときどきぶたは、独立したギャグが非常に多く入っていて、逆にストーリーは、毎回、迷走する感じ。ある意味では、1話に付き、芸人の漫才を数本分聞いているような感じだと思う。

TV animation TOKYO PIG is a kind of weird taste anime, too. I recommend this amine for original Japanese version's fun. And you also need quite English skill.
I also bought GAOGAIGAR recently. And GAOGAIGAR's English conversations are much much easier to understand than TOKYO PIG.
このTVアニメはれときどきぶたは、かなり妙なセンスのアニメでもある。もともとの日本語版が好きな人にお勧めします。ただ、楽しむのに、英語力はかなり必要です。最近買ったガオガイガーの英語の方が、比較にならないぐらい易しかったです。

If you like the live action show named Utau! Dai-RYuuGuuZyou(or It's musical. Let's sing! Huge undersea beautiful castle for fishes), you might like this show, too.

あなたが、うたう!大龍宮城 のファンなら、はれときどきぶたも好きになるかもしれない。

I finished watching disk No.2(bonus disk) and then watched movie again.
おまけディスクを見終わる。で、も一回、映画本編を見た。

There are many features(They say it's about 4 hours) in bonus disk including making movies, and interviews. But this is Korean movie. So, most of them speak Korean, except some SFX team from USA or other English speaking country.
ボーナスディスクとして、やたらいろいろ入ってた(４時間と書いてあった)。メイキングとかインタビューとか。しかしこれは、韓国の映画だ。だから、ごく一部の米国人等の特撮関係の人以外は、殆どの人が韓国語を喋る。

You must try hard and read English caption while they are talking Korean language. I found it more difficult to read it than listening to English without English caption. Caption disappears soon and you have to read next one, one after another.
韓国語を喋ってる時に表示される英語字幕を、必死になってなんとか読まないといけない。英語字幕無しで、英語だけ聞くよりも、すぐに消えちゃう英語字幕を次々と読む方が、さらに難しいと感じた。


I realized some new facts as follows.(also include my new impressions)
以下は、いろいろ新たに分かったことや追加の感想。

1. The girl 少女
The Director said, abducted girl(by monster) is a kind of girl like Lana(from Future Boy Conan). Now that he mentioned it. I agree.
監督が、「(怪物に)誘拐される少女は、未来少年コナンのラナみたいな子なんだ」と言っていた。言われてみると、確かに納得できるような気もする。


2. The guy who committed suicide. 自殺した人
I thought he was a scientist who suffer guilt feeling because he obeyed unethical order to discarded toxic waste fluid to the river. But he was just a bank clerk! It seems I failed to understand English correctly. (The monster ate 50% of his body. Then the monster learned human fresh is tasty.)
私は彼が科学者で、有毒物質を川に捨てちゃえという命令に従ったので罪悪感を抱えて自殺したのかと思っていた。しかし彼は、関係ないただの銀行員だった！ 英語をちゃんと理解できていなかったのかなぁ。(怪物は彼の遺体を半分食べちゃう。その時怪物は、人間って食べるとおいしいんだと学習したのだという。)


3. CG
When the monster first appeared, her CG image was not seemed very heavy enough as a living being. But each important moments of the movie, her CG(or animatronics SFX) seemed very good and heavy. I just thought they used much money to calculate CG image. But that was not true. The fact was, they first used heavy machine like crane, heavy round wood, or anything which they thought to have equal weight or inertial moment to the move of the monster. After that, they drew CG image, that's why they seemed to have real weight! Nicely done.
最初に怪物が現れた時、彼女のCGの動きは生き物としての重みをあまりうまく表現できていないと思った。しかし、映画の要所要所では、CG(アニマトロニクス含む)が、すごく生き生きしていて、ちゃんと重たそうに見えた。CGの計算にもっと予算を使ったのかと思っていたんだけど、事実はちょっと違っていた。実際はまず、実物のクレーンなどの重機やでかくて重たい丸太とか、そのシーンの怪物にあった重量や慣性モーメントがある物体を使って撮影して、後でCGを書き加えていたのだ。だからちゃんと重みを感じるCGになっていたわけだ。これは、みごとだと思った。


4. Eating scenes 食事シーン
The scenes when the family was eating something were always impressive. All of them say nothing and just eat eagerly. It's as if they knew by their heart that eating is very important for life.
例の家族が食事をしているシーンは、いつも印象的で絵になっていると思った。誰も何も言わず、黙々と一生懸命食べている。まるで、食べることが、生きていくのに大事なことなのだと、本能とか心の底から知っているように見えるシーンだ。


5. Monster's eating habit and digestion 怪物の食生活な習性
I never understood if I didn't watch their explanation. This movie only shows how the family fought with the monster. So, we don't know very sure what the army and police were doing nor why the monster abducted the girl, even after the movie ends.
解説を見て話を聞かなかったら、絶対わからなかったと思う。この映画は、家族がどんな風に怪物と戦ったかしか見せないので、軍や警察が何をしてたかとか、怪物がなぜ少女を拉致したのかは映画を見終わっても、いまいちよく分からないのだ。

Only you can understand after watching additional explanation in DVD No.2.
The monster ate a lot and digesting it for a few days. The monster abducted the girl as her emergency 'fresh' food. The monster also stocked lots of 'dead body', too. But they were alive when she abducted them. The monster can hunt only 2 at once.(When her stomach was full.) One with her tail and one in her mouth. Victims took away with her tail always die(drowning in the river) but victims in her mouth might survive. They said some carnivorous animals eating habit and digestion system is just like this.
2つめのDVDに入っている解説を見れば分かるようになっている。怪物はたくさん食べて、何日間とかのしばらくの間はそれを消化しているのだ。少女をさらったのは、腹減った時用の、'生きが良い'非常食としてらしい。確かに、他にもたくさん死体をストックしていた。彼らも怪物に捕まった時は、まだ生きてた。怪物は(お腹がいっぱいでまだ消化中の時は)、一度に二人しか人間を捕まえられない。しっぽに一人、口の中に一人。しっぽの人は、川の中で必ずおぼれてしまう。口の中の人は生存率が比較的高いということらしい。肉食獣の食生活と習性をヒントに、怪物のを設定したらしい。


6. Grandpa's preach じいちゃんの説教
Grandpa : Do you really think your older brother(hero of this movie) is stupid loser?
Younger bro : Yes!
Younger sis : Yes!
They immediate reply to the Grandpa's question. This scene, and next scene(Grandpa's preach) was Grandpa's big scene. It's funny and sad. Because younger bro and younger sis didn't listen to his preach at all.
じいちゃん : お前達は、この兄貴(ヒーロー...というか主役の人)が、あほで負け犬だと本当に思っとるのか？
弟 : うん！
妹 : うん！
じいちゃんの問いに即答する弟と妹。このシーンと次のシーン(じいちゃんの説教)とかが、じいちゃんの見せ場だろう。おかしくて、もの悲しいというか。だって弟も妹も、まるっきり、じいちゃんの説教を聞いてないのだ。


7. Fishes and something on the monster 怪物に突き刺さっている魚と、あと何か
If you really look at the monster carefully, you can find the fishes on her back. The fishes were moving. There was something(seems like huge parasitic worm) in the monster's left eye. It was also moving.
怪物をよくよく見ていると、背中に魚が何匹か突き刺さっているのが見える。それが、ごにゃごにゃ動いている。怪物の左目にも何かが(でっかい寄生虫みたいだ)いて、それも、うにゃうにゃ動いている。

This is US version of the Korean Creature movie which cost $12.99(Two-Disc Collector's Edition/amazon.com) It was an interesting movie.
これは韓国の怪獣映画の米国向け版、値段は12.99ドル。(アマゾンにて/2枚組コレクターズエディション) おもしろい映画だった。

English is pretty difficult. And English subtitle of this movie doesn't cover all the conversations. They skipped some of "English conversations" by English speaking villain, who was talking about real scientific facts of the case and so on. So, you have to listen his skit and try to understand without a help of subtitle. (But you can imagine.)
英語はわりと難しめ。そして、英語字幕は、全部の会話をカバーしていない。韓国語ではなく、もとから"英語の"、アメリカ人(悪役)の台詞などについては英語字幕が省略されている。事件の科学的な真相とかと話している部分とか。そのため、そこは字幕なしでなんとか聞き取らないといけない。(なんとなく想像は付くけど)

You can also enjoy long English commentary of the Director and his American friend. He English has some Korean dialect, but he talks slowly. I've watched movie again with English commentary twice. Their commentary was also very interesting.
監督とアメリカ人の友人が英語で喋ってる、長いコメンタリーも入っていて、楽しめる。監督は、少し韓国なまりがあるけど、ゆっくり喋ってくれている。映画見た後、コメンタリー音声にして、後、2回見た。コメンタリーも非常におもしろい内容だった。


About the movie itself, it was not like typical Japanese nor US monster movie.
映画そのものに関して言うと、典型的な日本やアメリカの怪獣映画とは似ていない。

First of all, the monster is not giant but kind of "small". His shape is like a tadpole(his body size without tail is as big as an elephant) with 2 legs, long long tail fin, and huge mouth. And he can eat one adult human without any bite. He is capable of fast movement and jump like a kangaroo. And he can swim.
そもそも、怪獣が巨大ではなく、"小型"なのだ。形は、オタマジャクシみたい(しっぽを除いた本体サイズが、ゾウぐらいの大きさ)で、2本の足が付いていて、長い長い尾ビレがあり、どでかい口を持っている。彼の口は、大人の人間一人なら、かまずに丸呑みにできるサイズ。動きが速く、カンガルーみたいに大ジャンプもできる。泳ぎも可能。

And it's a little bit complicated story. If you are a small child, it's difficult for you to understand.
そして、話は多少複雑で、込み入っている。子供には理解できない話だと思う。

If you deeply know how it feels when you became a loser of life, you might enjoy more and more of this movie.
人生の負け犬になる気持ちが深くわかる人なら、この映画がすごくしみるような気がする。

In the middle of the movie, the family members gather around, including "image" of the abducted child by the creature, were all eating instant noodle soup cups and foods in a prefabricated kiosk house. It makes you cry.
中盤、プレハブの物売り小屋の大きいのみたいなとこに、家族がみんな、怪物に誘拐された子供(イメージ)も含めて集まって、カップラーメンをすすり、飲み食いする場面がある。泣けるシーンだと思う。

What do you image if disfunctional "loser" family try to save their abducted daughter, and fight with the creature?
てんでだめな、"負け犬"一家が、さらわれた娘を救うために怪物と戦うって言ったら、あなたならどんな想像をするだろうか？

If this is a Hollywood movie, they suddenly start being a perfect heroes. But in this movie, they are not perfect, till the very end. Perfect heroes never fail when they shouldn't fail. But this family members are not like that. They often succeed when they are not under pressure, but they fail almost 100% when they shouldn't fail. Ordinary people fail when they are under heavy pressure.
ハリウッド映画ならば、途中から突然完璧なヒーロー達になるのではないだろうか。でもこの映画だと、最後まで完璧にはならない。完璧なヒーローなら、ここぞという時は失敗しないものだと思う。しかし、この家族はそんな感じではない。重圧がかかっていない時はわりとよく成功するんだけれど、プレッシャーがかかる、失敗してはいけない場面では、ほとんど、ことごとく失敗してしまうのだ。普通の人って、そういうものだと思う。

American superhero or Japanese giant (good) monster might easily defeat this small creature who eat humans. But that's not a very interesting story.
アメコミのスーパーヒーローや、日本の巨大モンスター(味方側)ならば、この小型の人食い怪獣を簡単に倒せるような気がする。しかし、それではつまらない話になってしまうだろう。

As director said in his commentary, "system never help poor people".
So, disfunctional "loser" family straggle to fight with monster, or try to run from government and army. That makes this story very interesting.
監督がコメンタリーで言っている、"国家のシステムが、貧しい人達を助けることは、決してない。"
だから、機能していない"負け犬"家族が、怪物と死闘を繰り広げたり、政府や軍隊から逃げまわったりする。この話がすごくおもしろいのは、それだからだろう。

If I asked to choose similar type of movie from following list, I select 4. The Kid.

Hot-blooded, super giant robot battle anime. End of story. Ahh.... I don't have much more to explain, but I'll try.
熱血スーパーロボットアニメ。以上。ええと...。後はあまり説明することがないというか...。でもやってみます。

This is a simple story which is easy to understand. In every episodes, someone is in a pinch, they struggle fighting, and then defeat enemy in the end.
単純明快な話で、理解しやすい。毎回、誰かがピンチに陥って、激闘、苦闘があって、最後には敵を倒すって感じ。

But, but, I rarely saw such hot-blooded anime. From episode 1 to 26, all episodes are kind of hot.
ただし、これ以上熱い感じの話はそうそうないと思う。1話から26話までずっと熱いのだ。

English is rather fast and sometimes difficult. (And they often give a shout or yell out.)
英語は、速めで、時々難しい。(しょっちゅう、怒鳴ったり叫んだりしているし)

But they never talk about difficult matters. Operators talk about battle situations, and robot pilots talk about weak point of strong enemy. That's all.
ただ、難解な話題とかが出てくることはない。オペレータは戦況報告をし、パイロット達は、強敵の弱点の話をしたりするけど、それだけだ。

This is not a real robot anime(like Gundam series) but super robot anime, so you need-to-know some points.
これは、リアルロボット系の(ガンダムみたいな)話ではなく、スーパーロボット系なので、押さえておくべきポイントがあるかもしれない。

Each robot pilot must shout about the name of attack before using any weapons. Pilots have to shout laud because the effect of any weapon depends on how much one shouted from the pit of one's stomach. At least, it seemed like that.
ロボットのパイロットは全員、武器を使う前に必ずその武器の名前を叫ばないといけない。武器の強さは、いかに腹の底から、どれだけ大声で叫んだかによって決まる。少なくとも、そういう風に見える。

I like Jet Boy's human-robot form.(Which is rarely seen) And I like Kouji(Tetsuya Kouji/kind of great name!). I'm sorry for him because he doesn't have many lines.
私は、ジェットボーイの人間型ロボット形態が好き。(めったに出てこないが) そして、こうじ君(光司 鉄也/すげえ名前！)も。あまり出番がないのが残念だ。

He is a kind of backseat player. He fought in the first episode. And he spends most of the time recovering from injuries. But he made a big scene in the final showdown.
彼は脇役で、第一話で戦った後は、だいたいずっと傷の療養をしているだけだ。しかし、最終決戦の時に見せ場がある。

This animation drama uses kind of live action super hero style. So, if you are a fun of "Space Sheriff(Detective) series", you might enjoy more.
このアニメは、特撮ヒーロー風の演出が使われているみたいだ。宇宙刑事シリーズのファンなら、より楽しめると思う。

While I was watching, I sometimes confused as if I'm watching Space Detective live action super hero show.
見ている時、今見ているのが宇宙刑事の特撮ドラマに見えて、時々混乱したくらいだ。

By the way, you will find some spicy girls in all episodes. I think it's just a kind of added taste, but there are many sexy scenes for old man's taste.
ちなみに、お色気シーンみたいなのも全編にわたって入っている。あくまで、ちょっとした味付けって感じだけど。そのてのシーンは、なんというかオヤジくさい視点での、エッチっぽさだと思う。

When I bought Godannar, I bought this DVD, too. It was less than $30 at Amazon.com.(So, I bought it.)
ゴーダンナーを買った時に、このDVDも買いました。値段がアマゾンで$30を切っていましたので。(安くて、つい買いました)

26 episodes(there are also several commentary versions, too) with bonus materials with this price must be very very cost effective。
この価格で、26話(さらに数話分の英語コメンタリー付き)で、特典もいろいろ入っていて、恐ろしくコストパフォーマンスが高い感じです。

English was kind of difficult. A lot more difficult than average anime, I think. At first glance, I thought this DVD must be easy. Because it seems to be a story for children.(This was not entirely correct, either.)
英語は、なんか難しい感じ。平均的なアニメよりもかなり難しいと感じました。正直、最初にぱっと見た時は簡単なDVDだろうと思いました。子供向けの話みたいに見えたので。(これも、正しい理解とは言えなかった感じですが。)

In this show, they talk a lot. And you often have to understand their long scentences without help of moving images.
この話では、とにかくみんな話しまくります。そして彼らの長い文章を、映像の助けなしに、理解しなくてはならないことがちょくちょくあります。

For example, narration of each episode is a short tale which related to the episodes, with still image. It also using rather difficult words.
例えばナレーターが喋る、各話の最初に付いている短い童話には、止め絵が付いているだけです。さらに、妙に難しい単語が使われている感じです。

DVD is often easier than radio to understand, because we can use help of visions.
往々にしてDVDがラジオよりも理解しやすいのは、映像が理解を助けてくれるからだと思います。

And daily conversation might be sometimes fast, but they don't supposed to talk about enigmatic abstruse tale so often as this anime.
そして日常会話では、速くしゃべったりすることはあっても、このアニメのように、謎で難解な物語の話をちょくちょくしたりはしないと思います。

This is a story about a duck which name is also 'Duck'. Using power of magical jewel, it transforms into a girl named 'Duck'. She is just a clumsy student of ballet school. And she sometimes transforms into Princess Tutu. Kind of magical heroine. But she dosen't use any ultimate beam or arms.
これは、あひるという名前のアヒルの話です。彼女は，魔法の宝石の力を借りて、あひるという名の人間の女の子になります。彼女は、バレー学校のおっちょこちょいでだめな生徒です。そして、時々プリンセスチュチュに変身します。一種のマジカルヒロインです。しかし、ビームをぶっ放したり、攻撃兵器を持っていたりはしません。

She can dance. And she can find the prince's shattered heart and restore it to prince. If she declare her love to the prince, she will turn into particle of light and disappear forever like The Little Mermaid.
チュチュはバレエが踊れます。そして、王子様のハートのかけらを見つけて、それを王子様に戻すことができます。もし彼女が、王子様に愛の告白をすると、彼女は光の粒子になって永遠に消えてしまう運命です。(人魚姫が泡になって消えちゃうみたいな感じ)

If you are a girl or woman and have a lot of knowledge about ballet, you might enjoy this series more than I did.
あなたが女性で、クラシックバレエの知識を豊富に持っているなら、この話をもっと楽しんで見られるのかもしれません。

This might be a good story, well made and complected, light and dark fairy story even adults can enjoy. But you have to be patient, take your time, watch carefully this DVD for a long time. Then, you might understand this story.
この話は、よく練られている複雑で、大人でも楽しめる、光と影のあるおとぎ話かもしれません。しかしこのDVDは、時間を掛けて、辛抱強く、注意深く見ないといけないように思います。そうしないと、この話のよさがわかってこないような気がしました。

I enjoyed some climax episodes, but not all episodes were awesome story to me.
私は、数本の、クライマックスで盛り上がってる話は楽しんで見ましたが、全部のエピソードが、自分にとっておもしろい話だ、とまでは感じませんでした。

But I can say, I enjoyed listening to difficult English dialogues including English commentary and other stuffs like Mr.Cat's ballet lessons.
(Some bonus materials, including this Mr.Cat's ballet lessons were added in US, so there are no Japanese versions.)
しかし、'ネコ先生のバレエ教室'などのおまけやコメンタリーを含めて、難しめの英語の会話を楽しんで見られたとは言えるかもしれません。(ネコ先生のバレエ教室ｘ６など、いくつかのおまけは、北米版で追加されているので、日本語なし/英語音声のみです。)

English commentaries were made by several people.(translator, English version's scenario writer, voice actors, and voice actresses)
英語のコメンタリーは、数人がかりで作られています。(翻訳者、英語版のシナリオライター、声優さん達)

Translators and scenario writer speak slowly, but their subjects were difficult. Voice actors and voice actresses speaks very fast, but easier to understand.
翻訳者とシナリオライターの人は、ゆっくりしゃべるのですが、話題が難しい感じです。 声優さん達は、すごく速く話しますが、理解しやすい話をしています。

By the way, I ended up watching last episode 3 times and at last, I understand the meaning of last shot.
話は変わりますが、最終話を都合3回見たら、最後のシーンの意味がやっとわかりました。

But do you know 'The MerKewp' ? It's original works by Rose O'Neill about 100 years ago. It's a kind of merman like creature. And they are very cute! They have 2 antennas on their head.
しかし、マーキューピー（マーキュープ）って知ってますか？ それは、100年ほど前の、ローズオニールさんのオリジナルイラストに登場してます。人魚と言うより、半魚人キューピーって言いたくなるような姿の生き物です。そして彼らは、とってもかわいいです！頭に触角も2本生えてます。
