It's very scary. They'd been selling these 'self-luminous more than 10 years'(using radioactive substance) phone straps for 3 and a half years. They sold about 5500 pcs over the net.

Police arrested a man and woman Thursday for allegedly selling fluorescent cell phone lanyards that contain the radioactive substance tritium without obtaining permission from the minister of science and technology. Such cell phone lanyards contain an amount of tritium about 26 times that of the allowable level per unit.

私の試訳:
警察は今週木曜に、放射性物質トリチウム入りで、(トリティウムからの放射能で)蛍光を放つ携帯ストラップを文部科学相の承認を得ずに無許可で販売した容疑で男女のカップルを逮捕した。そのストラップには、規定量の26倍のトリチウムが含まれていたという。

感想(続き):
I wonder what exactly is an 'allowable level'. It's very vague. Authorities always say, "Don't worry. 26 times that of the allowable level does not mean grave risk to health, and you will not be an urgent patient in just one day."
It seems they never say it's very very dangerous like TV guy says.
規定量とか許容量ってのは曖昧だと思う。当局はいつでも、"問題ありません。26倍といってもすぐに健康被害が出るようなことは決してありません。1日で重体になったりしません。" というようなコメントを出すと思う。TVの人みたいに、非常ーっに、危険です、とか言うことはない。

But we use cell phone everyday just beside our head(brain). What will happen if someone uses this radioactive phone lanyards for 3 and a half years beside his/her head?
でも、携帯は毎日、頭(脳味噌)のそばで使う物だ。誰か、このストラップ買って、頭にくっ付けて3年半使った誰かも、何も問題なかったのだろうか。

They say using cell phone 10 min make your brain temperature +1 degree Celsius up.(Because you use 'small microwave oven' like device which radiate electromagnetic waves beside our head.)
頭に携帯を10分付けて通話と脳の温度が1°C上昇すると言う。(小型の電子レンジのように、電磁波を発する物体を頭のすぐわきで使うのだから)

One might use radioactive breath or fire breath like Godzilla by using this radioactive phone lanyard! That's cool. .... I hope no health hazard. We should be careful.
このストラップを使うとゴジラみたいに、放射能のブレスとか炎のブレスを吐けるようになるかも！ クールかもしれない。...健康被害に甚大な注意が必要だけど。
